Early 2000’s. Hand-carved and painted mask from Guerrero. The red face has for years been used to represent the Moor in the Dance of the Christians and the Moors. The pronounced eyebrows and prominent nose and chin are also used in the depiction of Moors. The hair is sisal. 11”L X 7 3/4”W X 4 1/2”D, excluding the hair, which adds another 4” in length.
